We have a rule in the House of Clarity. Everyone who is under our roof gets spoiled.
We recognize that being spoiled is defined as overindulgence and is widely viewed negatively. We use that phrase as an exaggeration to emphasize that we want to do all we can as a family to ensure everyone lives lights-on in the House of Clarity.
This means everyone has two primary energetic jobs: Job #1 is to be responsible and accountable for keeping our own lights on, to be consciously mindful of our energy, and to do what we need to do to be fully energized each day. Additionally, Job #2 is to ensure we thoughtfully create space for each person in our family to have what energizes them each day. Although staying lights-on is their job, not ours, we need to be mindful of supporting their lights.
Just shower the people you love with love
Show them the way that you feel
Things are gonna work out fine if you only will
Shower the people you love with love
Show them the way you feel
Things are gonna be much better if you only will
James Taylor
The most effective way to shower the people you love with love is to live every day thinking, doing, and being lights-on. When we are fully enlivened, we have the capacity to give our roommates, partners, and co-workers the space and encouragement to live every day with lights on.
I’m Spoiled,
