LIVING LIGHTS ON!

MANIFESTING WHAT YOU TRULY DESIRE

So much exhaustion, pain and resentment can come from wishing things to be different than they are. You want your spouse to do things exactly as you think they should be done. You want your work/career to always follow a specifically defined path that you have created in your mind. You want your children or your employees to be a certain way, behave a certain way.

It is critical that you watch your attempts to will something to happen or to will someone to fit a specific mold of your design. This version of your will comes from your head. It does not come from a heart connected vision. It’s an idea you made up in your mind; a way you think it should be. You are driving the idea willfully – “I’m in charge. It will happen according to my time line; according to the specific way I think it should be. I know my way is right.”

Our culture supports a willful system and says effort is natural; that daily struggle is part of life. As a result, many of us are going through life exhausted and cranky as we push against the world. We are doing our life according to some head based plan that does not lead to our destiny, vision or purpose.

When effort enters it should become a big red alert with flashing lights that you are trying to push through an idea instead of following energy and flow. Willful is a push; following energy is a dance. Willful involves struggle, effort, and exhaustion. Following energy involves fun, grace and ease.

If you are efforting every day toward some ideal goal you have set, or having your spouse act according to your ideal plans, and it drains you, exhausts you, then each day can be a temperamental attack on your self and those you love. This willful push to direct your life is self defeating and it doesn’t work.

This approach leaves no room for following energy. Energy is the only way the Divine can enter. It can only enter by opening a door called flow. It cannot enter through a closed door called effort. The key to the flow door is in your heart.

Following a heart connected vision is energizing. However, if you, at this moment in your life do not know what your heart connected vision is, you can still focus on actions or behaviors that touch your heart, and give you the key to flow.

We often use quotes from one of our teachers, Abraham Hicks, because he constantly reminds us of the Law of Attraction – like energy attracts like energy. Abraham says:

“Tell everyone you know: ‘My happiness depends on me, so you’re off the hook.’ Then demonstrate it. Be happy, no matter what they are doing. Practice feeling good, no matter what. And before you know it, you will not give anyone else responsibility for the way you feel – and then, you’ll love them all. Because the only reason you don’t love them, is because you’re using them as your excuse to not feel good. You are the creator of your own reality, and so you are not in jeopardy. You do not need to control the behavior of others in order for you to thrive.”

When you find yourself efforting, it is important to change your focus. Set an intention to what you want and begin focusing your attention on aligned action and behavior. Having a heart connected vision and intention helps shift your attention to more energizing actions and behaviors that lead to living a energetic life. Energetic flow equals joy … Willful struggle equals cranky. Your choice.

There are four key steps to manifest what you truly desire.

  1. Set your intention or your vision of what you want: Be very clear, state what you want, not what you don’t want. Write it down. It is important to have a visual representation of your vision to remind you often of what you want.
  2. Focus your attention on creating your vision: What you focus on expands, so focus only on what you want, not on what you don’t want. Allow yourself to visualize often what you want to create.
  3. Take aligned action: Step directly into action. Watch for clues – is it an effort or does it flow easily? If it’s effort that drains you it may be a clue that your actions are not energetically aligned, or your vision is not energetically connected to your heart.
  4. Release the outcome: Trying to will what you want to happen will keep you from seeing a better version of your dream when it appears.
